Osaka International Music Competition is pleased to announce official request for application shown below which is open to public participants from countries all over the world. The competition comprises Preliminaries, Semi-finals and Finals with itemized conditions as follows:

Notes:

    The committee of the competition shall possess every copyright related with the operation of the competition including tapes for Preliminaries, pictures or videos, and live recordings.

    Trials on Semi-finals and Finals shall not be repeated and have to be memorized.

    The title of work piece(s) shall be informed upon submitting music medias for Preliminaries.

    No title change is allowed after registration. The tape will not be returned to the applicants.

    An accompanist can be assigned at applicants' responsibilities for stringed instruments, wind instruments, and vocal music.

    Playing time requirement will be used as a guideline for interrupting applicants’ trial for procedural reasons, which will not affect the evaluation. Do not edit the original work piece by applicants except accompanist portion.

    Playing time will be measured as the total duration from getting on the stage until the end of the performance.

Any preparation such as instrument tuning should be completed beforehand.

    Another registration form and a certificate for passing it will be handed to the finalists upon announcement of the names who passed the Semi-finals.

Applicants for Finals must complete the registration with a copy of the music score before September 10.

    For applicants with residence located over seven-hour flight distance away from any competition place, tape audition can be accepted also for Semi-finals. Applicants who wish tape audition for Semi-finals shall forward the media to the committee before August 10 as well as a copy of their music activities such as recital brochures, certificates for other competition etc.

  Other requirements for paper works:

    The following four items shall be air-mailed to the committee no later than one month before the dates of Semi-finals.

  Application forms

  A music media recorded for Preliminaries(Cassette tapes, MDs, CDs, and                          electronic data through e-mail are accepted.) Do not forget to label the media with applicants' names and work titles

  A copy of the bank receipt at the payment for Preliminaries

  A self-addressed seal to be affixed to a reply envelope

 

One or two locations for Semi-finals can be chosen upon the registration regardless of the location of applicants’ residence. But the actual location of Semi-finals may not always be what the applicant wishes due to the capacity of each location. In such cases, the committee will notice it to the applicant in advance.

 

Notes:

        Accompanist's name shall be printed as a note if needed.

        In the case applied by duo, two forms shall be stapled together at the upper left corner

with playing parts clearly described on as a note.

        An applicant for stringed instruments and or wind instruments must clearly put the names

of instruments as a note.

 

        Applicants who have previously been qualified at other domestic or international

competitions do not have to submit music medias for Preliminaries but shall put the

names of the competitions and the dates of the awards as a note. A copy of the bank

payment for Semi-finals shall then be enclosed.

 

        A self-addressed seal is to be affixed to a reply envelope.

        Any document submitted will not be returned.

        Any question about the results shall not be accepted after the competition.

Any other expense for traveling and hotel accommodation and so forth will be of applicants' responsibilities.

No refund for the cancellation after the submission of the application forms.
